About Good Digital Books
Good Digital Books is an independent review site for readers who'd rather have an honest verdict than a marketing blurb. Every book we cover has been read, discussed, and rated — not scraped from a publisher press release.
Why we exist
Most book "recommendation" sites are affiliate farms with a five-star rating on everything. That isn't helpful. Our promise is simple: if a book didn't earn its place on our shelf, we say so. If it did, we tell you exactly who it's for.
Who writes the reviews
Reviews are written by a small editorial team of long-time readers based in the UK. Each reviewer covers the categories they actually read for pleasure — we don't assign a business-book fan to review romance, and vice versa.
How we choose books
- Reader requests and recommendations (email us — we read every one).
- Publisher pitches we found genuinely interesting.
- Books our reviewers were already reading on their own time.
We never accept payment for a positive review. If a publisher sends a free copy, it has no effect on the rating — we've panned plenty of freebies.
How we make money
When you buy a book through one of our Amazon links we earn a small commission from Amazon at no extra cost to you. That's how the site is funded. It never affects a rating. Read our full affiliate disclosure for the details.
Editorial standards
Our full methodology — how we rate, when we update reviews, how we handle corrections — is documented on our editorial policy page.
